This design project won a People’s Choice Award from the Archetype Sustainable House Design Competition organized by the Toronto and Region Conservation Authority and Design Exchange in 2006 as a prototype for sustainable living. The project is designed to LEED for Homes standard and Energy Star Home standards.

Key design concept is to integrate green technologies like geothermal heating and cooling, solar heating, radiant floor heating, structural insulated construction wall panels, high-performance windows, efficient space planning, xeriscaping with native plants in an ordinary-looking house without over-glorifying green features and to help such houses fit in to the typical neighbourhood context.
