Sustainable Design

HSAI is dedicated to incorporate sustainable principles and strategies into each project on the mandate to reduce our impact on the environment. A holistic and integrative approach is adopted at the onset of all projects with careful consideration of building orientation, siting, building form, functions, materials, building envelope design, building systems, interior finishes and furnishings to achieve energy efficiency, indoor air quality and reduced water consumption.

It is the firm’s mandate to employ both passive and active sustainable design measures, to educate clients about different sustainable options while weighing in the short and long term benefits and the practicality of all measures. HSAI is a member of the Canada Green Building Council.
